Re: Rowan Rait-Eile (Merinitia Magus)
Still Alive, by Rowan Rait-Eile
This is a journal.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
My nickname is Nakata.
it means central rice paddy.
For the good of all of us
Except the ones who are dead.
But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of rice.
And the magic gets done and you make a neat spell.
For the people who are still alive.
I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you beat my friends and hurt me.
And knocked Malgus unconcious.
And covered him in burns and fire.
As he burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you!
Now these piles of pillows make a beautiful line.
And we're out of rice, we're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
For the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.
Maybe a teacher...
THAT WAS A JOKE. Haha. FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this rice is great.
It's so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking when there's magic to do.
When I look out there it makes me GLaD I'm not you.
I've experiments to run there is research to be done
On the people who are still alive
And believe me I am still alive.
I'm doing magic and I'm still alive.
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive.
While you're dying I'll be still alive.
And when you're dead I will be still alive.
Still alive

Re: Rowan Rait-Eile (Merinitia Magus)
1160, Spring:
FREEDOM! Finally I will be free of that meddling church and its annoying want-to-be god, far away on an island that has never heard of it before. I am so excited I can barely stay still, especially since this is my first official job as a magus. However, I must keep my Parens’ teaching to heart, 'Magic may be able to solve all of your problems, but what would happen if you need to fix a zither to stop God from smiting you, and he had turned off your magic?', I had nightmares of my zither being broken and that annoying want-to-be demanding a song for months after that.
They asked us to come to the Stonehenge covenant near London, I was expecting them to ask us to go to a harbour, but they may be calling us in to set some rules and test that we are good enough. Stupid old people, of course I'm good enough. When I arrived at Stonehenge, the covenant was pretty, lots of magic everywhere, definitely a covenant at the height of its power, or in its waning years. There were several other magi there for the same reason as me as far as I could tell, they seemed to be looking around as much as I was, glad I'm with a group that is curious, and it will help me with finding test subjects and story material.
There was lots of men, from what little I could gather from eavesdropping, I love being a child in a crowd, no one ever really pays you any attention, especially at covenants, I just wish they would remember who I am when it was relevant, it is probably a curse from that annoying want-to-be, or maybe an attempt by my Parens to protect me from those 'unnecessary forces' of his.
One of the male magi is a Vim specialist from House Bonisagus. Another seemed to be a Corpus magus of the same House. Hopefully they aren't 'apprentice eaters' as my Parens like to call them.
One of the men was carrying lots of tools and talking familiarly with the others, I'm guessing he is of Verditius, I will admit I feel a little left out, after all he has met all of them before, why haven't I met him. It must have something to do with my Parens obsession with 'not being tainted by unnecessary forces', such a stupid reason, being me is easy and no one will change who I am, after all it just isn't in my story and I don't plan to add it. I wonder why he kept complaining that he needed to re-teach me whenever I pointed this out to him, I guess I may never know, or the answer will be on this trip.
There was a Magi in armour also wandering around, always an odd combination, I can't wait to see his abilities, but I think I heard one of them mention lightning and Tremere around him.
There were two young women, one had a feral look to her, I quite like that, and it’s always fun to be around animals. Heard she was from House Bjornaer, at least I'm not the only cult member here, also I heard that they can be as feral as the real thing, I wonder if she gets in heat as well; guess it's something to look out for in spring. The other seemed as curious as I, I get the feeling we will get along well, if only she wasn't Flambeau, they tend to get annoying when told that fire isn't everything, but then again maybe she is a weird one, I like weird ones, good stories revolve around them.
We were led to the centre of one of the henges, where we were told that we would be receiving more mundane help once we were set up. I was a little confused as to why this sounded like a final sentence. Then it hit me, I hate teleportation magic, always makes me feel like I've been split in two, then the old me exploded. They dropped us on a boat, interesting level of accuracy; no one fell overboard, also straight into a room. There was a really nice view out of the window, the smell wasn't great though, and the Verditius wouldn't stop vomiting out the window.
When we got on deck there was a lot of people, a little girl who looked different and the boat master were the first two I noticed, but I was distracted by the view of the place we were heading, it was pretty. I just hope that the Fae are here as well, they should be wherever stories are, but it is a new land for us, they may never have been here.
Once we got on land, the girl asked us to follow her, in Latin, it wasn't perfect and she had an accent but it was definitely Latin. Judging by her different looks I'm assuming she is a local. I wonder if she was an apprentice of the ones that supposedly came before us, highly likely she is a magi, after all looks don't tell your true age sometimes, I'm living proof of that. Either way, she climbed on a normal size horse; it looked weird, her being smaller than even me and all. I asked her about it and she just said that it was her horse, go figure, some of the others gave me weird looks when I asked, I wonder why people do that when I talk.
On the way up to our new home the magi started introducing themselves to each other. Aberlard of Bonisagus, the vim specialist. Malgus Arcturis-Nat Lowe of Bonisagus, the corpus specialist. Vayne of Tremere, armoured man. Tefra of Flambeau, curious one. Kazeko Tsukiyomi, the local girl, weird name. The Verditius was unconscious the whole way.
This place is beautiful, all the towns and villages we have come across are small and don't stick out as much as those in England. I'll admit I think I'll miss the castles and the stench of it all, but this place seems like it has been dragged straight out of a story, I love it. When we arrived at our new home, it seemed to be made out of wood and parchment, an odd combination, but the girl, Kazeko, walked straight in, there was lots of dust and a clear path through, the girl walked straight along the clear path quickly without saying much. Some of us followed her, she came to a room, Malgus seemed like he wanted to follow her in. Probably a good job he didn't, I noticed a sanctum marker nearby, guess she is a magi.
We got to work setting up the covenant for ourselves, cleaning out rooms, setting up the basics, I helped set up many 'Suiden' or 'rice paddy' which seems to be this country's primary food source, like our wheat. From talking to Kazeko meat that isn't fish is rare here, I hope we have some hunters; I really enjoy a well cooked steak. We decided to choose rooms for ourselves, I took two rooms as my laboratory required more space than most, and the others seemed to have no problem with this. Eventually we decided to set up our Aegis, for the tokens Aberlard wanted some metal leaves, I volunteered to make the metal. The Verditius, who finally introduced himself as Atticus, worked the metal to make it permanent and so the tokens were made.
1160, Summer:
After the hectic mess that was spring of this year, I got the chance to finally set up my lab once more. It took quite a bit of work, but I'm glad I finally have a room I can call my own. I just wish it was in a Fae Aura, I can never truly feel at home in just a magical area. But I did find a gateway to the Fae Realm, it should make it easier to come and go, if there is anything there. While I was setting up the laboratory I noticed some very pretty designs on the walls, I came to wonder who had done them, regardless of this I designed my laboratory layout to take advantage of the designs, hopefully others will appreciate my efforts, on the few occasions they will be allowed access to my sanctum. I am gladdened that Atticus decided to use the tower that was built in the centre of the covenant, after all he mentioned wanting to build a forge and I have bad memories of fire and wood in the same area.
1160, Autumn:
I specialised my laboratory, it would seem that my faerie friends are here, I wonder if they are coming in from the gateway, I keep finding materials that could only be from the Fae Realm in my stores, I'm glad that I get at least a few small home comforts, I found some truly beautiful candles in there, they give off a beautiful light blue flame. My lab seems to be particularly good for Mentem magic, one of my weaknesses, but at least it will make learning it that much easier when it comes down to it. While I was specialising my laboratory, one of our members unpacked our library, I can't wait to see what we have.
1160, Winter:
We have some truly amazing books in our new library; I managed to get my hands on one of them straight away, for research purposes obviously. It was a Summae on Parma Magica; personally I believe that a good defence is as good as a good offence, so I grabbed it while I could before others decided they wanted to dabble. Soon it will be time for me to go to the Fae Realm here and I want to be prepared. We re-prepared the Aegis again, this time more strongly, apparently some of the magi here think similarly to me, that home is very important and should be protected with all our might.
1161, Spring:
<Companions arrived, add that in>
For the sake of my own safety, certain events will be kept in a separate journal with a separate cipher. Donated apples containing vis to the covenant.
1161, Summer:
When I returned from my trip I realised that my lab could do with some refinement. While I was refining my lab I managed to organise and clean it, I guess that my trip helped me keep some feeling of home.
1161, Autumn:
I managed to get my hands on the legendary Creo book that our covenant brought with us, how we got this book is beyond me but it is truly beautiful, it's artwork, writing and even the ink and parchment it is on are amazing. There is a drawing of a dragon on page 417 that looks so real that it seems to be staring at you as you read, it was a little off-putting at first, but after a while I found myself wanting to meet that dragon. There is also a Phoenix on page 300, I found myself staring at that drawing for longer than I care to admit as well, I really hope that one day I can meet one because I want to know how truthful that picture is. While I was pouring over this book it would seem that someone caught one of the local magical creatures, they kept saying that it was a demon, I'll bow to their knowledge on this since I am not versed in the lore of such beings.
1161, Winter:
I continued to read the Creo Summae, this book has so much to teach me about my most skilled and favourite technique, I get the feeling I will still be reading from this for years to come. The time to reinforce the Aegis came round once more; I will admit I have come to enjoy the timetabling I have gotten myself these days.
1162, Spring:
I decided that I should brush up on my Latin this year, after all I did only learn as much as I needed to pass. I was much more interested in actual magic than reading. Tefra of Flambeau joined me in receiving tutelage from the Latin instructor. While we were in the middle of our tutelage the Tremere decided it was a good idea to climb our tower and swear at the want-to-be, he is a damned idiot, he got himself smote he managed to survive but I got a headache that felt like a meteorite hitting my head. I found myself swearing my head off in Latin, I think I even made some new swears or at least learned some I hadn't known before, I am a little worried that my 'infernalist' past might follow me, after all another magi was present during my episode and my hatred of the want-to-be has never really gone down well with others. Thankfully it seems that Tefra either overlooked my episode or didn't associate it with the smiting because I have not heard anything more about it since then.
1162, Summer:
A man was sent from the local mundane population, he seems to be a noble of this place. Due to the language barrier Robbie, my wayward son, found himself sat in the council meeting, his attempts to learn the local language, Robbie says it is called 'nihongo', will finally be useful for something other than selling our produce and buying trinkets. How he got to be so boring I will never know, maybe it is part of his rebellious phase, or that I afforded him too much freedom as his 'parent'. My pride made me take him and my honour made me keep him, although I will admit I do feel a sense of pride in moments like this, I truly hope that he lives his life in a way that makes him happy, I will look after him until his death day and will continue to look after his descendants until mine. As usual our council was as disparate in thoughts as they have been thus far, in the end we decided to placate the local nobles, we managed to arrange for their protection as long as we provide some items, a teacher in Latin for him and his staff, and a pledge of some mundanes for their wars when they arise, which can be avoided by paying a mythic pound per head we would have sent, an unfortunate solution but our code stops us from being able to meddle in the affairs of the mundanes too much. The title of the noble is 'Daimyo' according to Robbie; it is the noble of the local area it would seem. Part of the local noble structure is similar to our own, a family run by a head of the house. However, the structure here allows for a council of elders, who are allowed to advise the head and rule in matters when the head is absent. Since the 'Daimyo' seemed to view us as a noble house we decided to play the part and place a mundane as our head of the house with regards to ownership of the lands etcetera since we ourselves cannot own it as magi of the Order of Hermes. We set our council up as the 'council of elders' as far as the locals are concerned, so that we can keep our matters separate from the mundanes as much as possible. We decided in the end to choose Charlotte Brooke, the daughter of an English noble as our head, this was after asking our Companions to give us reasoning as to why they would be good for the role. Several applied, including one of the locals 'Yunka' and an ex-holy knight of the Christian order. The knight proved incapable of the role after I called his god "a cock sucking arse hole" and several other things to boot, the proof came when he drew his sword to my throat only to have it deflected by another, I did my best to stifle a laugh when he did. I had to stifle a laugh after that girl 'Yunka' insinuated that Kazeko was a prostitute and was punished by her instantly for it, I think I will like Kazeko, she does not play games when they are unneeded.
It would seem that our new head had a skill that will help with her role that she did not mention, she can see as I can even if it is in a limited fashion comparatively, the magi Malgus asked her for tutelage in this skill, I do not think he understands how fundamental the difference in our sight is, but still magi are always learning to break rules that should be written in stone. If he succeeds I shall have to ask the young head how she taught our sight to another.
Check the other Journal. Donated some more vis apples.
1162, Autumn:
Got my hands on the Parma Magica Summae again, I hope that I will be able to get my hands on it regularly.
1162, Winter:
Returned to the Parma Magica Summae, I find myself pouring over this book often, finding secrets hidden within secrets, potential ideas hinted at but never truly explored. Although I will admit that the author seems to be a little too eager to codify the art for my tastes, art takes finesse, imagination and time. It would seem that they only had two of these.
1163, Spring:
I decided to expand my research into a greater understanding of the theory of magic; thankfully we have a Summae on it within our covenant library. Yet another boring summation, these magi like to put art around their words instead of into them, how I miss the books of the Merinitia where art and word were one and the same, were you could read the book merely by looking at the page or by reading the words. Maybe one day I will be able to do that myself and show these people art and understanding can be one and the same.
1163, Summer:
I decided to help the covenant by setting up the communal laboratory that we made in-case we ever wanted to work together and was unable to use our own labs for whatever reason.
1163, Autumn:
I was approached by Tsukiyomi-senpai, she insisted on the '-senpai', she asked about having a trip to the Faerie Realm, I asked her to wait while I looked into it. I could have taken her straight away but I was unsure as to how it could warp her and I would rather avoid causing my fellow magi problems, also I didn't want a story involving others if I could help it, for now.
Tefra, Aberlard and Charlotte returned to the covenant, apparently they had left at some point. When they returned there was talk about having a party, but Charlotte was incapable of attending due to an injury, injuries are not a good reason to miss a party, everyone knows this, so I decided to use one of the arts passed to me back home, I hope nobody notices and that it works first time. I managed to sneak in and catch her while the doctor was out of the room. She was pretty badly injured, judging by normal human healing speed she would be hurting for quite a while, time for me to break the rules of this human world once more. In no time her wounds closed, leaving no scarring, can't have her beautiful young body scarred yet, scarring is for the old that are only capable of reliving their glory days through stories told at bars while pointing at the scars caused by it. I hope she doesn't tell anyone that I can do this, hopefully it will be believed to be a hermetic art, but I have no tales of being skilled in this area so it may cause some disbelief or outrage that I have been hiding this art.
Check the other journal. More vis donated to the covenant.
1163, Winter:
I decided that I would test some theories on warping caused by Faerie powers and protecting others from it. I used some of the covenant's Terram vis that I realised was Fae aligned. I decided to push my boundaries while testing the theory and it paid off. I have proven to myself that passing my Parma Magica on to another will protect them from the warping of a Fae based magic, which means that it should work with ambient sources of warping like a Fae aura. At the same time I managed to drastically improve my art, I felt like I had reached a plateau with my Terram, but I reached a whole new height with this and as always my understanding of the other elements increased with it, after all they are all but pieces of a whole.
1164, Spring:
I decided that it was time for me to move my lab into a more appropriate space so I went wandering around the covenant looking for any regios, the blood of my ancestors makes this task laughably easy for me thanks to the gift of these eyes. I wonder how my parents are doing without me or Robbie to give them tales, I bet they just found another child to take, but I hope it at least gave them a moment of regret for throwing me out like that.
When I had finished finding them and unlocking their entrances, I made a map for the covenant and donated it to them. However, I missed out an infernal regio I noticed as every time someone says the word 'infernal' a Christian soldier seems to appear followed quickly by an army. Maybe if members of the covenant prove to me that they will not call the church at the mere presence of the infernal then I will add it to the map, after all I don't want this beautiful place to be tainted by that want-to-be any more than it already has. I noticed that there are three Fae regios in our covenant; one is weaker than our current aura, useless to me as a laboratory space, maybe good for somewhere to make a rest room. The next is a fully fledged aura, I am unsure as to why it is there but it is a little too powerful for me to use as a laboratory, if I had let my emotions get a little out of control I would have been stuck in the Faerie Realm again, bad for exciting work. The last is stronger than our current aura without being too strong, but its location is a little problematic, I believe that Tsukiyomi-senpai's room is in the same location. I will ask her for a chance to change rooms soon, that aura is worth too much to me to not try.
1164, Summer:
How did it come to this, seriously? All I did was ask for a room change, all of a sudden my room is flooded in pillows, I had two bananas and an apple stolen from me, I spent a few days travelling for nothing, Tsukiyomi-senpai is angry at me for some reason and is now calling me a 'Baka', isn't that the name of a demon that Tefra caught? And I just proposed to her, that is not what I meant and now I am stuck to my word. At least I found out that Tefra is a nice person, she helped me when I returned and found my room full of pillows and worked out what had happened. Although when I think about it now Tsukiyomi-senpai seemed a little over-eager to move into my room, I wonder if it made her happy, maybe a show of anger is a show of love here, I will have to look into it. For now I will do my best to learn a way to earn her hand as I have promised, I doubt I will admit it openly yet, but she is quite beautiful and has her cute moments, hopefully this will not be a marriage of solely honour and involve love as well, I would like for both of us to be happy. Due to my new-found goal I asked one of the companions to help me learn 'Nihongo', her name is Taoreta I believe, she is a very big woman at least twice as big as me, I had heard that women from this place are usually smaller than those from England, if so this woman must have had a hard life due to it.
1164, Autumn:
Taoreta was busy during Autumn so I enlisted the help of my son in learning 'Nihongo'. He was a little curious as to why I was learning it so I told him the truth, after a lot of laughter and a few sentences like 'You got caught in a contract, I can't believe it' he settled down and taught me properly. Honestly, I think he was happy for me deep down, but as always has trouble showing it.
1164, Winter:
Wish I had been able to continue my engagement preparations, but my previous obligations took precedent. Tsukiyomi-senpai paid off what remained of our vis debt in exchange for ownership of the covenant's Parma Magica book, rather a shrewd move by her, although she knew that she was buying less than the vis was worth so I find myself wondering what else is in that book, but it makes me glad to know that my fiancée-to-be is smart enough not to show her full hand.
Check the other journal. More vis for the covenant.
1165, Spring:
Tsukiyomi-senpai came rushing into the covenant shouting about how some sakura trees had not bloomed yet, given how much she seemed bothered by this gave me a good idea for a present for the engagement, I think I will put that fully developed Fae regio to creative use. Ignoring that for now, we inquired as to why this was a problem and she told us that it is an important festival in this country called 'Hanami' and that it symbolises many things including how the rice harvest will be that year. After that I will admit I stopped listening to most of the questions asked of her, just that it is an important tradition is enough for me, without that tradition it is possible a Fae will die and Fae with a festival as revered as this are likely to be powerful.
Once everyone had stopped bickering over what to do we did lots of research into what exactly was happening, we split up and each took a task, Tefra joined me in testing some of my tasks, as an Ignem magi of some skill I believed that she may be needed if the mountain were to turn out to be a volcano. In the end, I believe that my research was one of the most important; I found that the soil was missing nutrients and due to that I noticed that there was something under the ground that I couldn't identify as well as fire.
Eventually after the others had finished bickering I turned a circle of the earth between our covenant's garden and the unidentified matter into glass so that I could attempt to see it. When all that I could see was flickering lights, from the fire. Tsukiyomi-senpai sat in the middle of the glass using some magic of her own, this was the first real chance I got to admire her sigil, the wings she manifests are really quite beautiful, I wonder if they change dependant on what she is casting like mine does, I admit I found myself thinking of what the view would have been like if I was at the bottom of the glass while she was walking on to it, I guess I will find out soon enough.
Some of the magi mentioned that it would probably be best if we went down since we could not see anything from here, I agreed, so I asked Tsukiyomi-senpai to move off of the glass, then I smashed it on the second kick, I may have to work on getting stronger one day, I felt a little embarrassed about looking so bad in front of her.
Tsukiyomi-senpai grew some wings then jumped into the hole, I noticed shortly after that there was an air current in the hole helping her down safely, so I jumped in after her, but not before seeing Tefra push Malgus into the hole, that made me laugh. I made myself fall faster and at last second entrusted my body to the air current, I am glad that I spent as much time as I have playing with air over the years, the others seemed worried about whether the air would soften their landing or not, they should really improve their arts if they are forced to rely on another in such a simple situation.
Once we landed we noticed that we were stood on a tree and that it was on fire and Tsukiyomi-senpai gave Tefra a gift for some reason, shortly after Tsukiyomi-senpai was asked to put out some of the fire using a large gust of wind, she obliged.
The others all used some small magics to help them deal with the dark; I noticed that Tsukiyomi-senpai's sigil had been constantly active for a short while now. Aberlard and some of the others started doing tests to work out what was happening, they noticed that the fire was able to harm Atticus who claimed to be immune to fire and Tefra seemed to be having fun burning him with it. I closed up the top of the hole we used to descend to stop anyone from falling in. I tested the fire with a ReIg spell to keep fire away from me, it managed to overwhelm my spell, which wasn't surprising given I had cast it spontaneously, but it proved to me that protecting myself against the fire in this manner was not going to help. So instead I changed to one of my formulaic spells that I had made to deal with enemy magi in combat. Its main use was to disrupt their concentration, but in this case it worked wonders on putting out the fire, I taught Tsukiyomi-senpai the basics of the spell and she managed to cast it spontaneously.
Honestly I have a lot of respect for her ability in the use of Auram due to all of this, but at the same time I am saddened that she does not have the same understanding of the elements as I, maybe one day I will be able to teach her and maybe even the Ignem specialist Tefra.
Eventually when the others had finished bickering, again, we started moving in the direction I had been saying to for a while, with Tsukiyomi-senpai and I putting out the fires along the way, for a small time Aberlard looked pale, I guess something scared him. A short while later Tsukiyomi-senpai started answering questions that were not asked, it was then that I realised that she had her eyes closed, I figured that she was most likely using a hearing enhancement spell to see properly down here. Again my lineage helps me in seeing the truth of the world, I don't think the others noticed that her eyes were closed this whole time, but then again they are working with what little light they can conjure while I can see in any amount of light.
After some time walking, I saw two figures in the distance just past a wall of flames, one wrapped in blue light the other in red, I tried to see the truth about them and got one of my wishes granted at the same time it made me wish it hadn't, an ice and a fire phoenix just floating there talking, the others hadn't seemed to have noticed. I swore without noticing and Tsukiyomi-senpai moved away from me looking shocked, Aberlard looked at me knowingly and asked me to move to a side and talk with him, he knew, he knew since he went pale and didn't say anything to us, I guess he was trying to keep everyone from going crazy or getting scared. This situation seemed to cause even more bickering, during which Tsukiyomi-senpai was asked to share her senses with us all, I'll admit I was curious to see how I sounded to her. Then Malgus, one of those that asked to share Tsukiyomi-senpai's senses, decided to talk normally and nearly deafened our entire entourage, the silly man doesn't seem to think about what he does and what is enacted upon us, or he wanted to injure us all, I shall have to think about this at greater length.
We continued on to the wall of fire, over which I could hear the two phoenixes, without Kazeko-senpai's help, they seemed to be having a contest of riddles, such fun it will be if I get to join in, I haven't had a good riddle contest in years, humans don't seem to enjoy them as much as my family used to. Aberlard and the others had a bit of an argument, again, before the fire wall while he told them what the two figures are.
Tsukiyomi-senpai opened a hole big enough for herself and entered, I followed after making the hole slightly bigger for myself. The others only noticed that we had gone ahead after we were already in front of the phoenixes. We got the rules laid out for us, one gets to ask a riddle the others have to try to answer correctly, if they are wrong they have to endure a punishment chosen by the riddler and the riddler gets to ask another riddle, if you win you get to ask the next riddle. Such simple but magnificent rules, so much room for play, I truly have missed this.
Eventually the other magi joined in to the riddle game. Unfortunately, Atticus and Malgus each won and between them asked both of the phoenixes to pledge themselves to our covenant as their punishment. I eventually won two in a row, starting with one that allowed me to get the phoenixes to put out the fires on the trees while protecting us and the second allowed me to ask the ice phoenix to live in one of the magic regios and the fire phoenix to live where he currently is, I gave them the choice to say no unlike Atticus and Malgus though.
I really hope that the enforced servitude doesn't come back to bite us. The cost of the riddle battle included Malgus being unconscious; he came close to death, maybe that is the price he had to pay for binding one of the phoenixes into servitude. There were also a few small cuts and bruises, a Tracti that Malgus had to make for Aberlard. I paid up each of my costs straight away including writing for Malgus 'A Tractus on Terram just for me' on a piece of parchment, why he wanted this was beyond me. I think he meant that he wanted me to scribe a Tracti on Terram for him to own, he should really learn to be more specific in his requests, especially in such situations. I also managed to learn a name that may give me an edge in my trips home, I will keep it written elsewhere, I am pretty sure the others will think my question silly and forget the answer given in time.
Check the other Journal. Brought home some shells for an engagement present I had heard was good for the process.
1165, Summer:
I was asked by Tefra to help her practice penetration, I got quite a few things ready, when I found out that she meant magical penetration I found myself quite saddened. I spent the time she flung spells at me and my Parma Magica reading the Parma Magica Summae. I wonder if she would like to practice the other penetration some time, then again I am getting a wife soon; I should at least try to find out if she is fine with a poly-amorous marriage or not before I do something to annoy her.
1165, Autumn:
I planted some cuttings from some sakura trees that Robbie brought back for me from his latest trip; I decided that I would try to spontaneously cast a spell to increase the speed of the cuttings growth. A massive surge of energy went through me and I pulled off the spell to a magnitude I thought impossible with my current skill, I guess this is just proof that something magical or Fae wants this wedding to go forward. Due to this spark of power I decided to pull one of our tracti out of storage that was written on the subject of Herbam.
1166, Winter:
I picked up our Parma Magica Summae once more, and sent out an invite to Tsukiyomi-senpai's parents for them to come to the covenant in spring so that I can retry asking for her hand.

1166, Winter:
<Companions arrived, add that in>
For the sake of my own safety, certain events will be kept in a separate journal with a separate cipher.

Got my hands on the Parma Magica Summae again, I hope that I will be able to get my hands on it regularly.
